What is Loops & Flows?
Welcome to Loops and Flows — a space where technology meets humanity, and big shifts meet everyday moments.
I write about AI, career pivots, philosophy, design, and what it means to be human in a world shaped by tech. Expect reflections that move between the abstract and the practical – looping through deep ideas, flowing into real life.
Whether you're navigating a career transition, curious about how AI is reshaping our lives, or just in search of thoughtful takes on the modern world – let’s be friends.
Nice to meet you, I’m Anna
My career blends humanities and tech in unusual ways. I started in Anthropology and cultural heritage, aiming for an academic path in Maya studies—but life had other plans.
I wrote my PhD on digital memorials, exploring how death rituals move online across platforms like Second Life, World of Warcraft, Facebook, and YouTube. I finished my dissertation in 2014 (you can find my academic publications here).
Craving more applied work (and stability), I pivoted into Service Design very early on in my academic career and never looked back. Since 2016, I’ve worked full time in the private sector, mostly in tech and design. I’ve created my own coaching company Havainna along the way, teaching about design anthropology, qualitative research, service design, and more. (You can read about it here. )
Writing has been my original creative outlet, but I feel the video format of many social media platforms has partly destroyed my attention span and diminished my ability to write about my thoughts.
